Swimming in Neptune’s deepest ocean

There are no oceans or seas to be found on the ice giant Neptune. Yet the song Swimming Neptune’s deepest ocean is about swimming in the deepest ocean on this planet.
The Roman god Neptune was the god of waves and all flowing water. The name Neptune is also associated with the eighth planet from the sun. In addition, it is part of the name Neptune’s Barista.
Water therefore plays an important role. However, there is no ocean to be found on the planet itself. The planet is an ice giant (seventeen times the mass of our Earth) and life is impossible there. Swimming would be a challenge, even if there were water.
So it’s not literally about swimming on the planet Neptune. It’s a metaphor. It’s about letting yourself be carried away by something that may seem impossible, but which you nevertheless feel is possible or seems possible somewhere. A kind of apparent contradiction. Perhaps even a challenge. There’s nothing wrong with that, as long as it’s legal, doesn’t hurt anyone and doesn’t break any laws or rules.
