I often take the trouble to keep the information on this website general and to use sentences that avoid the first person. In the description of The Chaos in my Head, I am not doing that for once.
In 2020, I fell ill and after a thorough diagnosis, it turned out to be chronic cluster headaches. The ‘normal’ cluster headache, episodic cluster headache, occurs in clusters. Hence the name. This is not the case with the chronic variant. The number of people who suffer from chronic cluster headaches is even smaller than the number of people who suffer from episodic cluster headaches. Estimates put the number at around twenty percent for the chronic variant.nbsp;
“Doctor Internet” will tell you that treatments exist. That’s true, but they only treat the symptoms. There is no cure for cluster headaches. That is not important for this article. The chaos in your head, that is what is important. Because that is what it is all about. That is not just the title of this issue. It is a feeling of chaos that can arise at certain moments before, after or during a cluster headache attack. And that is not all. Due to medication, this chaos can sometimes persist.
